Mercedes Mythos: an AMG car you can't just buy

New era of exclusivity from Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed the development of a second model of the ultra-exclusive Mythos series — a special lineup of cars intended exclusively for collectors and the brand’s most loyal clients. After the debut of Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, inspired by Formula 1 racers, the new Mythos promises an even more radical approach to design and technology.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the Mythos series will include fewer than ten models, each created in an extremely limited quantity and aimed not at the mass market but at emotion, status and collectible value.

Second Mythos: an extreme AMG coupe based on the CLE

What is known so far

The new Mythos is based on the Mercedes-AMG CLE Coupe, but the production car served only as a starting point. Early reports indicate the newcomer will feature:

  • a completely reworked body

  • aggressive aerodynamics

  • exclusive design elements not available on any other Mercedes model

  • an extremely limited production run

Teaser images confirm the wide fenders, elongated hood and lowered stance, pointing to a focus on maximum performance and visual impact.

Design: luxury without compromise

Inspired by supercars and AMG heritage

According to brand representatives, the Mythos designers were given complete creative freedom. That allowed them to create a car that:

  • does not submit to standard corporate constraints

  • combines classic AMG proportions with futuristic elements

  • signals the owner's status at first glance

Extensive use of carbon, aluminum and unique color schemes developed specifically for Mythos is expected.

Technical part: a bet on maximum performance

Expected specifications

Although Mercedes is not officially disclosing technical data, sources close to the project report:

  • a powerful AMG V8 engine with twin-turbocharging

  • an upgraded chassis and adaptive suspension

  • a focus not only on top speed but also on driver engagement

Important: Mythos is not just a fast car, but a demonstration of Mercedes-AMG’s engineering capabilities with no cost constraints.

Exclusivity as a philosophy

Not for dealerships

Cars in the Mythos series:

  • will not be available through normal retail channels

  • are offered by individual invitation only

  • are aimed at collectors who already own rare AMG, Maybach and SL-series models

According to Robb Report, the price of the new Mythos could significantly exceed €300 000, and actual demand already outstrips the expected production volume.

When to expect the debut?

The official debut of the second Mythos is expected in 2025–2026. Mercedes-Benz continues to build interest with teasers, but the final design and specifications remain strictly secret for now.

Conclusion

Mercedes-Benz Mythos is not just a car but a manifesto of luxury, power and individuality. The second entry in the series promises to become one of the rarest and most coveted AMG models in recent years, proving that even in the age of electrification Mercedes still knows how to build cars for true enthusiasts.
