Nissan Rogue Hybrid 2027: Why the Most Affordable Version Will Arrive Later

Frequently asked questions

The SR AWD with the Technology Package is expected in late fall 2026 in limited quantities, with an MSRP of $41 490 before destination charges, taxes, and additional dealer fees. The $35 490 SV AWD is expected in early 2027.

No. The 2027 Rogue Hybrid with Nissan’s e-POWER system cannot be plugged into an outlet. Its gasoline engine generates electricity, and the battery also receives energy during deceleration. The 2026 Rogue Plug-in Hybrid is a different model.

Nissan lists 40 miles per gallon in the city for the all-wheel-drive SR, approximately 5.9 l/100 km. This is the manufacturer’s preliminary estimate, not an independent test result or final EPA rating.

On September 21, 2026, Nissan announced pricing and trim details for the new Rogue Hybrid in the US. On paper, the crossover starts at $35 490, but the first model to reach dealers this fall will be the SR with the Technology Package, priced at $41 490. The base SV and other versions are expected in early 2027. The difference matters to anyone planning to buy in the coming months: the advertised starting price does not currently apply to the first available batch.

How e-POWER Works

The Rogue Hybrid uses the third generation of Nissan's e-POWER system. The gasoline engine generates electricity, while two electric motors—one on each axle—drive the wheels. There is no mechanical connection between the engine and the wheels. As a result, all US versions of the new hybrid have all-wheel drive. Nissan explains the system's operating principle and design on the official third-generation e-POWER page.

In the US Rogue, electricity is generated by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine. Nissan told journalists that the system produces a combined 225 hp. The driver does not need to look for a charging station: the vehicle is refueled with gasoline, while the battery receives energy from the generator and during deceleration. It is a conventional hybrid to use, not a plug-in vehicle.

Do Not Confuse the Two Rogue Hybrid Models

The 2026 Rogue Plug-in Hybrid is a different model, with a charging port and the ability to drive on electric power after charging. The new 2027 Rogue Hybrid with e-POWER cannot be plugged into an outlet. If a seller refers to a vehicle as a “Rogue Hybrid,” confirm the model year and powertrain type. The difference is shown in the official specifications table for the plug-in Rogue.

When the Trims Will Arrive and How Much They Cost

On the Rogue Hybrid page for the US market, Nissan lists five configurations. The prices below are the manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) in US dollars, excluding destination charges, taxes, and additional dealer fees.

What the “Starting at $35 490” Price Means

It applies to the SV, which Nissan expects to deliver to dealers in early 2027. The first version, the SR with the Technology Package, has an MSRP that is $6 000 higher. This is the difference between the manufacturers' suggested prices for the trims, not a calculation of the dealer markup for a specific vehicle.

The SV is listed with two 12.3-inch displays, heated front seats, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The initial SR with the Technology Package adds a 14.3-inch center display with Google built-in, memory settings for the driver's seat and mirrors, and an upgraded surround-view system. These differences explain part of the price gap; choosing a version based only on the general “Rogue Hybrid” label would be impractical.

What Else to Check Before Buying

Nissan lists fuel economy of 40 miles per gallon in the city for the all-wheel-drive SR—approximately 5.9 l/100 km. This is the manufacturer's preliminary estimate, not the result of an independent test or a final EPA rating. Figures for different trims and real-world fuel consumption over extended use still need to be verified.

As of September 22, 2026, the exact arrival date for the first batch at dealerships has not been announced: the company says late fall and limited availability. Early 2027 is the stated timing for the remaining versions, without a specific date. The prices and timing apply to the US; they should be checked separately for other countries.
