Bugatti Tourbillon 2026 — new hybrid hypercar

Bugatti Tourbillon is the new generation hypercar from the French marque Bugatti, the successor to the legendary Chiron. It was unveiled for the first time on 20 June 2024 and is planned for production from 2026 in a limited run of just 250 cars.

Development history and model philosophy

The name Tourbillon is inspired by the tourbillon — a complex mechanism from haute horology that compensates for gravity's effect on timekeeping accuracy. According to Bugatti, this reflects the pursuit of mechanical purity and engineering excellence.

Unlike previous models, the Tourbillon is an entirely new design with no shared underpinnings with the Chiron — the body, chassis and powertrain were developed from scratch.

Design and interior

Exterior

The Tourbillon combines traditional Bugatti cues (two-tone paint, the signature horseshoe grille) with modern aerodynamic elements. The body is made from carbon composite, and details are sculpted for optimal airflow.

Interior

The interior is focused on an analog driving experience, with a minimum of screens and an emphasis on mechanical controls, tactile materials and luxurious finishes (leather, metals, crystal). Some details echo mechanical watchmaking.

Technical specifications

Powertrain

The Bugatti Tourbillon is equipped with:

  • 8.3‑liter naturally aspirated V16 engine, developed with input from Cosworth;

  • three electric motors (one near the engine and two on the front axle).
    This hybrid configuration produces a combined output of around 1800 HP.

Transmission and drive

  • 8‑speed automated manual gearbox with dual clutch;

  • all‑wheel drive.

Performance

Bugatti quotes the following approximate figures:

  • 0–100 km/h in about 2.0 seconds;

  • top speed up to 445 km/h (with the speed key).

Other dimensions

  • Length: ~4671 mm;

  • Width: ~2051 mm;

  • Height: ~1189 mm;

  • Wheelbase: ~2740 mm;

  • Electric range: ~60 km with the ICE switched off.

First impressions

According to the first reviews and the model's debut at the Brussels Motor Show:

  • the car was shown to the public with the design fully visible;

  • under the skin is a revolutionary hybrid system with a battery of about 25 kW⋅h and three electric motors;

  • the carbon fiber body and the special packaging underline the exclusivity of the Tourbillon.

Price and production run

The Bugatti Tourbillon is priced at approximately €3.8–4.1 million (over 4 million USD). Production is strictly limited to 250 units, and according to some sources they are already sold out or close to it.

Why the Tourbillon matters for Bugatti

The Bugatti Tourbillon symbolizes the brand's shift into a new era of hybrid power while preserving the philosophy of mechanical driving pleasure. It's not only a response to modern environmental requirements but also a showcase of engineering mastery: the combination of a massive naturally aspirated engine and electric motors creates a unique mix of power and drivability.
