On September 23, 2026, Nissan unveiled the PIXO — a four-seat electric hatchback developed for European cities. Its dimensions, battery capacity and charging specifications are now known. Pricing and ordering details have not yet been announced for European markets.
From Announcement to Premiere: Two Dates
On September 9, 2026, Nissan announced the PIXO name and scheduled its premiere for September 23. At the presentation, the company revealed the specifications and confirmed that the design was created by Nissan, development was carried out jointly with Renault, and production is planned at Renault’s plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
The PIXO belongs to Europe’s A-segment: it is less than 3.8 metres long. At the same time, it has five doors and four seats, while the rear seats can be moved independently of each other. This allows the balance between passenger and cargo space to be adjusted.
Dimensions, Battery and Charging
Nissan published the main figures in its September 23 premiere announcement. They describe the model shown at the presentation; equipment for individual countries will be confirmed later.

The LFP battery is a first for a Nissan model in Europe. DC fast charging at up to 50 kW and AC charging at up to 11 kW are specified across the PIXO range. The stated 28 minutes refers to charging from 15 to 80% at a suitable station; the actual time will depend, among other factors, on battery temperature and the condition of the charging equipment.
How to Interpret the “259 km” Figure
This is a preliminary WLTP cycle result, not a guaranteed distance for every journey. Nissan says final certification has not yet been completed. On the road, range will depend on speed, weather, terrain, vehicle load and climate-control use. For route planning, it is more useful to consider your own driving pattern and the available charging stations than to treat 259 km as a fixed figure.
What the Driver Gets
Nissan says the PIXO will offer one-pedal acceleration and deceleration control, automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance. The cabin features a seven-inch driver display and a ten-inch central screen. The Google built-in system includes navigation and the Gemini voice assistant. The exact feature set and availability of individual options by trim should be checked against local specifications once they are released.
The stated boot capacity is 356 l with the rear seats upright, including a 50 l compartment for the charging cable. Independent fore-and-aft adjustment of the rear seats can help when carrying a long item while retaining space for one rear passenger. However, the PIXO is designed for four people, not five — something to bear in mind before comparing its boot capacity with other city cars.

When Will Pricing Be Announced?
Nissan’s pan-European announcement says that information on pricing, equipment for individual markets and pre-orders will begin to be released from December 2026. Customer deliveries are planned for early 2027. This is a general schedule, not a single sales-launch date for every country.
For example, the UK PIXO page says that orders have not yet opened, while full UK pricing and offers are expected in March 2027. As a result, estimates of the starting price appearing in the press should not be treated as an announced Nissan price. Until local price lists are published, it is not known how much the PIXO will cost in a particular country or which features will be included in the standard version.
