That’s why before buying it’s important to look not only at the body and interior, but also at the car’s history, documents, and its actual technical condition.

The first thing to do is request the VIN and carefully check the car’s history. If the seller refuses to provide the VIN or dodges the question, that’s already a red flag.

Right before the deal, carefully check the paperwork. The VIN on the body must match the documents, and the vehicle’s status must be clear: whether it has been customs cleared, who the owner is, and whether it can be immediately registered to a new owner. If there’s urgency, paperwork confusion, or phrases like “we’ll sort it out later,” it’s better to stop and double-check everything.

The main rule is simple: a good car purchase in Tbilisi isn’t the one that looks the prettiest or the cheapest, but the one that’s been thoroughly checked before payment. A calm inspection, VIN check, paint thickness gauge, diagnostics, and a test drive are almost always more important than pretty photos and the seller’s confident words.
