A Chevrolet Equinox can be a solid choice for families or drivers who need ample cargo space and a comfortable ride. When shopping for a compact SUV in Moldova, in cities like Chisinau or Balti, you should consider the generation, engine type, fuel economy, and the overall condition of the vehicle. This guide covers key points: which generation to pick, what mileage to accept, how to evaluate a gas or diesel engine, which trim options are worth it, and how to negotiate price based on your budget.

Choosing the generation and configuration

The Equinox has been produced in several generations, each with its advantages. For Moldova, the most popular versions include:

Second generation (roughly 2010–2017) – spacious interior, moderate fuel economy, reliable petrol and diesel engines, good handling on varied road surfaces.
Third generation (from 2017 onward) – modern design, advanced tech, more efficient engines, and a better balance of comfort and economy. Choose based on budget, space needs, and desired tech.

What to check when buying

Brand and model: Chevrolet Equinox, search terms like “Equinox 2015”, “Equinox 2019”, or “Equinox LT/AWD” in Moldova.
Year and generation: newer years may bring warranty and newer features, but at a higher price.
Engine and fuel: petrol or diesel; consider maintenance costs and parts availability.
Mileage: lower mileage can indicate less wear, but review service history and any accidents.
Body and cargo space: SUV with five seats and ample cargo area suits families and outdoor activities.
Trim and features: automatic transmission, navigation, parking sensors, infotainment; avoid paying for features you don’t need.

Negotiation and purchase tips

When budgeting, include long-term costs like maintenance and insurance. Common Moldova search phrases include “Chevrolet Equinox price Moldova”, “Equinox 2018 mileage”, or “Equinox 4x4 Moldova”. A thorough history check, up-to-date maintenance records, and a test drive can prevent surprises.

For sellers, highlight service history, number of owners, major engine/transmission work, and accident history. Clear discussion of fuel economy, drivetrain options, and warranty terms can facilitate a sale.
