The BYD Han stands out in the affordable luxury segment with a sleek silhouette, modern technology, and efficient powertrains. If you’re considering purchasing or selling a BYD Han, understanding the generation, body type, fuel choice, and typical price ranges can help you make a smarter decision. Below we cover what to look for when evaluating different years and configurations, and how to compare options across cities and countries where this model is popular.

Understanding the BYD Han and what to look for

The Han is typically offered in sedan form and comes in several generations with varying engines and features. When buying, pay attention to:

Model year and generation: newer generations bring improved batteries, driving assist systems, and onboard connectivity.
Engine and fuel: often a choice between plug-in hybrid or fully electric variants; check range and charging compatibility for your country.
Mileage and condition: higher mileage may affect battery health and resale value, so request a full service history.
Interior and features: seating comfort, infotainment, driver assist package, and cargo space matter for daily use and long trips.

Prices for a BYD Han can vary by year, trim, and market. In many markets you’ll find price segments spanning affordable mid-range models to higher-value trims with extended batteries and premium equipment. When comparing, consider total ownership costs, including charging infrastructure and maintenance.

Practical buying tips: how to choose and compare in your city

Check available configurations in your city: model availability, trims, and battery options may differ by country and city. Compare similar mileage and year to estimate fair value.
Compare range and charging: for electric variants, verify real-world range, charging speeds, and compatibility with local charging networks.
Assess ownership costs: insurance, maintenance, warranty terms, and potential battery replacement costs.
Inspect the vehicle history: prior accidents, service records, and battery health reports if available.

If you’re selling a BYD Han, prepare service records, clarify the battery condition, and highlight any recent upgrades or parts replaced. High-quality photos and a detailed description of mileage, year, and trim help attract serious buyers more quickly.
